Information reaching this publication indicates Secondary School Teachers Union has threatened to call for a national wide strike if government fails to honor their grievances by November 1, 2024.
This has been confirmed in a letter addressed to Ministry of Education dated October 7, 2024 signed by General Secretary Druwen Moyo.
In the letter the grouping wants the government to deal with the challenges that the teachers raised such as delayed promotion letters, unpaid salary arrears, and unfulfilled promotions to managerial positions.
Moyo also said that the ongoing rising costs of various goods on the market is having huge impact on the lives of many teachers in the country.
Effort to talk to Ministry of Education on the matter proved futile.
