A 49-year-old man of Mpika in Zambia, has sustained a deep cut on his face after being attacked with an axe by another man who found him with his ex-wife.
Charles Chanda was assaulted by Innocent Chanda after he discovered him with his former wife, Angela Mukungule, aged 32.
The victim suffered a deep cut to his face.
said the suspect had divorced his wife some time back, and the dowry had already been returned to him.
Mr Moola added that the victim had proposed to the suspect’s former wife, and she had accepted.
“He came to Chief Nabwalya’s area to live in Kaole Village, where he met his soulmate. When the suspect learned that his ex-wife had remarried and was living with another man, he became enraged, armed himself with an axe, and attacked the victim, slicing his face,” Mr Moola said.
He said police officers issued the victim a medical report form, opened a case docket, and launched an investigation.
Mr Moola said the victim is currently admitted to Chilonga Mission Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
He said no arrest has been made, as the suspect is currently on the run.
