Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province on Saturday night survived what could be fatal road accident in Zambia.
The accident happened at Chakolwa Game Camp as chief was returning from the Malaila traditional ceremony of the Bisa people in Nabwalya, Muchinga Province in Zambia.
Meanwhile, the chief is recovering well.
Writing on his official facebook page, former Zambia President Edgar Chagwa Lungu wished the Paramount Chief well.
“l am glad to establish that His Majesty, his retainer, his Induna (advisor) and the driver are all safe, out of danger and in good health following a full medical assessment done by experts from both Mambwe and Chipata. As such, we thank God for His divine protection and love upon the life of His Majesty and everyone who miraculously survived the accident.
“On behalf of my wife Esther, our family, the Patriotic Front party, the Ngoni people and all Zambians, l wish the Paramount Chief quick psychological recovery and speedy wholistic healing as he rests. His Majesty must know that many Zambians at home and abroad love him and continue to pray for him because his throne is among the widely known, powerful, important and respected royal establishments in our country. He means a lot to many people!” wrote Edgar Lungu.
