Police in Mwanza District have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of defrauding a customer by selling fake fertilizer.
Spokesperson for Mwanza Police station, Sergeant Hope Kasakula has confirmed the development and identified the suspect as Matolino Fanikesi.
According Kasakula, the suspect sold two bags of what was supposed to be fertilizer to the customer.
However, upon attempting to use the product, the customer discovered that the bags contained sand instead of fertilizer.
Matolino in currently in police custody and he will soon appear in court to face theft charges.
