The newly formed Non-governmental Organization called Needy Students Aid (NeSA) has supported 131 students at Manyowe Primary School with learning materials.
The support comes barely days after President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera held Presidential Charity Golf Tournament at Limbe Country Club to raise funds for needy students in public universities across the country.
The items donated include; textbooks, pens, Mathematical instruments and pencils.
Speaking after handing over the items to the learners, NeSA Vice President Gift Banda said the organisation’s dream is to equip every learner with all necessities.
“At first NeSA was helping needy students in public universities with rentals, upkeep allowances and the likes and after noting the need is so huge we thought reaching out other schools hence the donation we are having today at Manyowe Primary School.
“The donation may look small but it will change the life of someone,” said Banda.
On her part Deputy Headmaster Mrs Frangesca Manja praised NeSA for the timely support.
“We are very grateful with the support we have received today from NeSA and this donation will motivate the learners to work hard in class,” said Manja.
She then appealed to other well-wishers out there to emulate the NeSA’s gesture.
One of the the beneficiaries Ackim Namate applauded NeSA for the support rendered to him and his fellow-learners at the school.
Needy Students Aid (NeSA) is a charitable organization established by Mr MacDonald Ziba a Malawian based in South Africa with an aim to help reduce school dropout rate in the country by providing learning materials, school fees and others among needy students across the country.
