Information reaching this publication indicates that United Democratic Front (UDF) has pulled out of joint media briefing scheduled for this afternoon in the capital Lilongwe.
The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), United Transformation Movement (UTM), Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) and UDF have organized a media briefing to express their concerns over the use of National ID as the only requirement for someone to vote in the forthcoming 2025 polls.
The said political parties claim that this will infringe on the rights to vote for Malawians as some Malawians do not have a national ID at the moment.
UDF National Publicity Secretary Dyson Jangia has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.
According to Jangia, the UDF National Working Committee is yet to meet and discuss the issues raised by opposition political parties on the matter hence the pullout.
