Police at Lingadzi in Lilongwe have arrested three men on suspicion of being responsible to the Area 13 Warehouse burglary case happened on 6 October 2024 October 6, 2024,  at Arthur Chibwana’s warehouse in the city.

Second Deputy Public Relations Officer at Lingadzi Police Station, Constable Glory Kondowe Ngwira, has confirmed the development and identified the suspect as Chimwemwe Nyirenda (21), a former Coin Security Guard, Noel Dzanjalimodzi (23), and Francisco Banda (21).

According to Ngwira,  the trio has been arrested police have recovered several stolen items.

The suspects, along with other accomplices, allegedly stole tools and equipment, including wheelbarrows, hammers, hoes, and picks.

Following a complaint lodged by the warehouse owner, the CID team launched a swift investigation that led to the arrests and the recovery of ten wheelbarrows and seven rolls of plastic paper, which were positively identified by the complainant.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects and recover the remaining stolen items.
