Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has taken to social media to celebrate 10 years anniversary of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST).
MUST open its doors in 2014 and the University started with three undergraduate programmes and two postgraduates (masters) programs.
Mutharika wrote on his official facebook page: “In April 2011 when I served as the Minister of Education, a foundation stone was laid at Ndata Farm in Thyolo district for what was to become the Malawi University of Science and Technology. In 2014, as state President, I was excited to see the actualisation of Bingu’s vision as the university opened its doors.
“Today, as the university celebrated its 10 years of existence, I could only feel proud to be associated with its legacy.”
“Congratulations on clocking 10 years Malawi University Of Science and Technology MUST. Keep being the place “Where excellence reigns” as per your motto. The dreamer is gone, but the dream lives on…”
Yesterday the University graduated 610 students.
