Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South Constituency Noel Lipipa has promised to upgrade the Manyowe-Nancholi road which is currently in bad state.

Lipipa said this during a public rally at Manyowe Primary School Ground where he was joined by United Transformation Movement (UTM) Youth Director Fredokiss, real name Penjani Kalaua.

“Blantyre City Council official and my team already did a survey where we took measurements of the road but with the economic situations we will first just do graveling of the road and work on the drainage system. Later its when we will upgrade the road to a tarmac one,” said Lipipa while also promising to upgrade Chisangalalo road and other roads around the constituency.

Turning to the 2025 polls, Lipipa urged people around Manyowe to come out in large numbers and register during the registration exercise which is scheduled to start from October 21, 2024.

“Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is starting the registration exercise and Manyowe Primary School is also a centre where the exercise will take place, please i urge you all to go and registered and vote for me and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on September 16, 2025,” said Lipipa.

Commenting on the presence of Fredokiss at the rally, Lipipa said the two have joined forces and will support each other ahead of the 2025 polls.

“Fredokiss and I will be working together ahead of the 2025 polls. This will also help us in pushing for development from government since we will be sharing constituency boundaries and developments project,” he said.

On his part, Kalua hailed Lipipa for developing Blantyre South Constituency, saying this will help him to have an easy ride in the forthcoming 2025 polls.

“Lipipa and i faced each other in the previous polls and he won. This time round he is moving to a new constituency and i will be taking up the constituency which he has left. Had it been that he was contesting in the same constituency i could have step aside and support him as am doing now,” said Kalua.

On Sunday, Lipipa will be holding a rally in Chilomoni Township ahead where he is also promised to highlight a number of development projects which he has lined up.

Meanwhile, Lipipa has renovated Manase-Manyowe bridge which collapsed during the cyclone Freddy.
