National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has disclosed that about 44 trucks carrying Petrol have crossed into Malawi from Tanzania.
According to NOCMA’s spokesperson, Raymond Likambale, this translates into 1.9 million litres of the product which will be readily available on the market.
Likambale further revealed that another consignment of 1.6 million litres awaits entry into Malawi from the Songwe border.
Meanwhile, a train carrying about 2 million litres of diesel has arrived through NOCMA’s Matindi Depot in Blantyre.
Likambale therefore expressed hope that the fuel situation will stabilise within the week.
