Information reaching this publication indicates that a group of angry villagers has stormed a police station at Likoma Island demanding the release of people suspected of killing a 6 year old girl.
The girl went missing yesterday and has been found dead this morning with some parts of her body chopped off.
The villagers want the suspects who are in police custody released and administer mob justice on them.
Police had to use teargas to disperse the angry villagers who were pelting stones resulting into running battles.
Calm is yet to return at the police station.
