The Zambia Police have dismissed social media claims that a newly graduated officer, Constable Mumbi Pascalina, is underage. The allegations surfaced after a photo of the officer went viral, with some questioning her age and suggesting she might have connections within the police service.
Police deputy spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi refuted the claims, stating that Constable Mumbi is over 20 years old and meets all recruitment requirements, including the minimum age of 18.
Chilabi emphasized that the officer’s personal records and documentation were thoroughly verified before her recruitment, ensuring compliance with all standards.
He called the allegations baseless and urged the public to rely on credible information instead of spreading unverified rumors aimed at discrediting the Zambia Police Service.
