The police in Mzimba district have arrested a woman, Veta Mwale, for allegedly trying to kill her two-year-old son in the Chimkusa area of the village.
Maria Banda, spokesperson for the Family Police, said that the woman decided to kill her son because she could not find the necessities of life such as food and a good place to sleep.
Mr. Banda said that some people tipped off the village police that the woman wanted to kill the child by tying him to the roof.
Mwale comes from the village of Jailosi Mwale, chief of Mzikubola.
