A 27-year-old woman has taken her own life after her husband refused to accept responsibility for her pregnancy in Chinkhali Village, under Traditional Authority Mponera in Dowa District.
Spokesperson for Mponela police station Macpatson Msadala, has confirmed the sad development and he has identified the deceased as .
According Msadala, Salomy, had been married for the past four months and their marriage was marked by frequent disputes, leading the husband to ask her to leave, which she refused to do.
Msadala reported that around 5 p.m. yesterday on 22 October 2024, Salomy was found vomiting abundantly.
She was rushed to the hospital but died while receiving medical treatment the medical reports confirmed that she had ingested poison.
The deceased, left a letter that revealed the reason why she had to take her own life as it says her husband denied that he was the father of her unborn child she was having.
Salomy Richard hailed from Chinkhoma Village, under Traditional Authority Lukwa in Kasungu District.
