Former President Dr. Joyce Banda who is also founder of the People’s Party (PP) has been discharged from Mwaiwathu Private Hospital where she was admitted.
Banda, PP torchbearer for the forthcoming 2025 polls has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on her official facebook page seen by this publication.
“Today the 24th of October, 2024, I was discharged from Mwaiwathu hospital where I have been for the past four days.
“I want thank Professor Wirima, Dr Kateta and all his highly skilled and dedicated staff for all they have done for me,” wrote Banda.
She added: “I thank God that after they treated me, it pleased GOD to favor me with healing. May I continue relentlessly to serve his people in total obedience to my GOD.
“Thank you friends from here and elsewhere, thank you PP and CDI/IRISE for your love and prayers.
“What would I do without my family. I will never take your unconditional love for granted.”
Banda served as Malawi President for 2 years from 2012 following the death of the then President Dr. Bingu wa Mutharika.
