In Chikwawa, three passengers have died after a minibus they were traveling in overturned at Kulima village along the Blantyre- Nsanje M1 road.
According to the District’s Police Spokesperson Dickson Matemba, the incident involved a Toyota Hiace, registration number NE 10320, which had 20 passengers on-board.
“Upon arrival at Kulima Village the driver failed to control his vehicle due to excessive speed that resulted into overturning and swerved to the off side of the road,” said Matemba.
He further stated that the casualties were rushed to Ngabu Rural Hospital, where the three succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver, Blackson Useni,30, and other survivors have been admitted with varying degrees of injuries.
