The burial ceremony of well-known scholar Professor Ngeyi Ruth Jumbe Kanyongolo has been shifted to Thursday at Chechamba Village in Thyolo District.
Initially, burial ceremony was slated for today.
Currently body viewing is underway at Kanyongolo’s residence at Mulunguzi in Zomba.
Retired Chief Justice Richard Banda, University of Malawi (Unima) Vice Chancellor Professor Samson Sajidu, Must Vice Chancellor, Professor Address Malata, Zomba Mayor, Christopher Jana, and his deputy Anthony Gonani, are in attendance.
Later a funeral mass would be held at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, before leaving for another Mass to be held at Catholic University’s Cafeteria Hall.
Until her death, Ngeyi Kanyongolo was serving as Vice Chancellor of Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA).
