Two Mozambican citizens have died after drowning in a dam when they wanted to steal fish from the Ngapani estate in Mangochi District.
District Police Spokesperson Amina Daudi said the names of the two men are Chiwaya Brake, 45 years old, and Asedi Malunda, 38 years old, who are from Ngauma district in Mozambique.
Daudi said that the men went to the estate with the intention of stealing fish that are raised on the farm.
But the wives of these people were surprised that their husbands were not coming home a day after they left, so they went to the estate to report that their husbands were missing.
But after an investigation, the bodies of the men were found buried in the water and the doctors confirmed that the men died of suffocation.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased has been taken to Mozambique where the funeral ceremony will be held.
