United Transformation Movement (UTM) Member of Parliament for Ntcheu West Simion Simon Salambula has asked government to compensate the Chilima family over the tragic death of the State Vice President Dr.Saulos Chilima and 8 others on June 10, 2024.
Salambula made the request on Saturday during at the end of Maseko ngoni mourning period of the former Vice President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima who was also Impi to Gomani V, and the late Lucius Banda at Nsipe Catholic Primary School ground in Ntcheu district.
“Through you State Vice President, Chilima left behind a wife and two children (Sean and Elizabeth). I hope the plane had an Insurance, please help the family by making sure that it is compensated,” said Salambula.
Salambula went further to ask government to construct a mausoleum for late Chilima since he died while serving as Malawi’s Vice President.
Chilima died in a plane crash in Chikanngawa forest together with former first lady Patricia Shanil Muluzi and 7 others in a plane crash.
