Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, founder of the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) on Monday visited Peoples Party (PP) President Dr. Joyce Banda at her home village in Zomba.

Muluzi was coming from Machinga where he went for the ongoing registration exercise by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) ahead of the 2025 polls.

Banda who once served as President of Malawi confirmed of the visit in a statement posted on her official facebook page.

“My Brother Excellency Muluzi went home to Kapoloma, Machinga to register for elections. On his way back he stopped by at our home KUNCHILINGANO HOUSE in Domasi, ZOMBA to see us.

“Former President Muluzi continues to teach us as a nation that we can rise above politics and live in harmony as a nation,” wrote Banda.

Muluzi retired from frontline politics in 2009.
