National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has confirmed the arrival of 26 trucks carrying nearly a million litres of diesel have arrived in the country

NOCMA’s Spokesperson, Raymond Likambale, said that the trucks departed from the Beira Port in Mozambique on Monday.

Likambale added that a train carrying diesel also arrived at Matindi in Blantyre on Tuesday, with another expected to reach Lilongwe this evening.

“These efforts aim to stabilise the supply of the commodity, and we expect diesel availability to normalise in a few days,” said Likambale.

The development comes in to ease fuel crisis which has hit hard the country.
