State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi who is also President of United Transformation Movement (UTM) has accused some National Executive Committee (NEC) officials of depositing money collected from nomination fees into personal accounts.

In a letter addressed to UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, Usi has described the conduct of the said official as illegal.

“They have also unfortunately decided to deposit the money collected from nomination fees to an account that does not belong to the party, contrary to Article 8 subsection 7 (d) which says that NEC shall manage and control all the money and property for UTM.

“This decision too was made without NEC approval,” Usi claimed in the letter.

Usi has since threaten to seek legal actions if this is not reversed.

In the letter Usi has also claimed that the constituted convention committee has no mandate to run the affairs of the party.

Effort to talk to UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala proved futile.
