Information available on our new desk indicates that Kondwani Chiutsi, the People’s Development Party (PDP) Regional Governor for the Shire Valley, has officially resigned from his position and the party, citing personal reasons and a desire to focus on his political ambitions.

In a statement, Chiutsi explained his decision to leave the party, revealing that he intends to run for the Member of Parliament seat in the Chikwawa East constituency in the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need to dedicate more time and energy to his campaign.

“As you are aware that I want to contest as Member of Parliament in Chikwawa East constituency so I need a lot of time,” Chiutsi said. “I have seen that my ideologies and the ideologies of the party are very different, so I have decided to resign as Regional Governor and as a member of the party.”

PDP has yet to issue an official statement regarding Chiutsi’s resignation, and it remains unclear how his departure will affect the party’s position in the region.
