A Hino truck carrying goats from Mumbwa District was involved in a severe head-on collision with another truck in Masaiti District, Copperbelt Province, near Nyenyezi Market around 4:00 AM.

The tragic accident resulted in the immediate death of one passenger, while seven others sustained critical injuries and are receiving emergency medical attention.

According to a passenger who survived the accident, the Hino truck driver had requested a short rest due to fatigue. However, the passengers urged him to continue, as they were eager to reach Kasumbalesa Border to sell their goats. Tragically, this decision may have contributed to the accident.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and road safety officials have reiterated the importance of allowing drivers adequate rest to prevent similar tragedies.
