The Zambia Police Service has expressed serious concern over the rising number of individuals using social media platforms to request and share explicit videos of Baltasar Ebang Engonga a senior official from Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry of Finance.

These videos, allegedly containing content of a sexual nature in multiple locations, are classified as illegal under Zambian law.

The police emphasise that possession, distribution, or circulation of pornographic or explicit material is a criminal offense, as outlined in Zambia’s Penal Code and Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.

Engaging in such activities not only violates the law but infringes on individuals’ privacy rights and encourages harmful behavior within communities.

The Zambia Police Service has announced that it is actively monitoring this issue. Individuals found soliciting, sharing, or distributing these videos will face investigation and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. The police urge the public to exercise responsibility online and to avoid involvement in illegal content.

The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the digital space, upholding the law, and ensuring the safety of all citizens. “Let us work together to maintain respect and dignity within our society,” the statement concluded.
