Chikwawa Court Sentences Four Men to 12 Years for Robbery at Illovo Estate

Chikwawa Senior Resident Magistrates court has convicted and sentenced Hassan Balakasi, William Chimbuto, Yamikani Nota, and Witness Edward to 12 years in prison with hard labour for robbery at Illovo Estate fields in Nchalo.

In May this year, the four whilst armed attacked the company’s official and security officers stationed at Illovo pump number 216 and went away with 7 mitres copper cable and three cell phones all valued at over K4 million.

However, the four, in mitigation, asked the court for leniency as they are first offenders and bread winners.
