State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi who is also President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) has said he will not seek court intervention on the forthcoming elective conference.
Usi recently was quoted describing the November 17 elective conference as illegal and distanced himself from the convention by not submitting nomination papers.
This attracted mixed reactions with some claiming that Usi may drag the party to court to stop the elective conference.
But speaking through UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala, Usi said he does not harbor such plans.
Njawala went on to assure UTM supporters that the elective conference is on this coming Sunday in Mzuzu and Usi may avail himself at the convention.
Four candidates are expected to tussle on the post of President and these are; Dalitso Kabambe, Mathews Mtumbuka, Patricia Kaliati and Newton Kambala.
