Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has spoken against laziness among National Governing Council (NGC) members ahead of the 2025 polls.
Mutharika urged the NGC members to work hard to rebrand the party and make it a peaceful and clean organisation.
He said this during an orientation of the new members at Lotus Hotel in Blantyre on Friday.
“We have a serious battle ahead, so I will not hesitate to remove any one who will fail to deliver,” said Mutharika.
He then called on the NGC members to be exemplary, responsible, loyal and promote unity for the party to achieve the shared commitment to values and vision of the party.
Mutharika then condemned the ongoing political violence in the country and urged President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to act on the matter swiftly.
Meanwhile, Mutharika will today attend the DPP blue night fundraising dinner and dance at Mount Soche Hotel.
