A 42-year-old man identified as Fyson Donalo has been arrested together with eight others in Mtakataka for assaulting to death his own brother 32-year old Loti Donalo on allegations that the deceased was practicing Satanism.
According to a Police report, the incident occurred on 15th November, 2024 in Dedza around 08:40 hours at Bwanamakowa Village.
It has been said that on the said date, the deceased was summoned at village headman Bwanamakowa where his brother Fyson lodged a complaint accusing the deceased of practicing Satanism.
“Parties from both families were in attendance at the meeting and as the matter was being discussed parties had disagreements as a result the family of Fyson Donalo rose against the deceased and assaulted the deceased to death with un identified sharp objects in the head and on lower neck.
Scene of crime was visited with medical personnel from Mua mission Hospital who confirmed death at the scene and Postmortem conducted indicates that death was caused by severe bleeding due to multiple cuts in the head and neck.
Meanwhile, the dead body is still at Mua mortuary pending Burial arrangements.
