The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested six employees of Phalombe district council for allegedly engaging in corrupt recruitment practices.

Phalombe police station spokesperson, Jimmy Kapanja has confirmed of the development saying on Monday that out of the six, three are men and three are women.

Kapanga said two women have already been released on police bail as one of them is pregnant while the other is nursing a baby.

The development dates back to a 2022 complaint filed by young people with the ACB, citing irregularities in the recruitment of hospital staff.
