United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Austin Muluzi has congratulated the newly elected President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM), Dr. Dalitso Kabambe.

Kabambe outclassed three other challengers at UTM elective conference where he amassed 636 votes against 21 votes for Patricia Kaliati, 22 votes for Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka and engineer Newton Kambala got 26 votes.

Writing on his official Facebook page Muluzi wished well Kabambe as he continue with the legacy of late Dr.Saulos Chilima.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Dalitso Kabambe on his election as President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM). I also wish to commend the new leadership team of the UTM for their dedication and commitment.

“Dr. Kabambe, I wish you and your team every success as you continue to build on the legacy of Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima (@SKC). Your efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the development of our nation,” wrote Muluzi.

Kabambe is is scheduled to face President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, former President Peter Mutharika and Atupele Muluzi at the polls in 2025.
