Veteran broadcaster Joshua Kambwiri has been laid to rest at Domasi in Zomba.

Former classmate of the late Kambwiri, Enock Sande, described him as a loving person towards his family, friends and workmates.

Sande encouraged people to emulate Kambwiri’s positive traits, highlighting his dedication to helping others, particularly in education, where he excelled in English and communication.

Kambwiri’s family remembered him as a devoted husband, father and a man who lived a meaningful life.

Whilst working at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, he served as a newsreader and host of the Sunday Morning Show, Controller of Programmes at Radio 1 and Regional Controller – Central Region.

Kambwiri was also an English teacher at Henry Henderson Institute Secondary School.

He died at the age of 62 and is survived by a wife and three children.
