Information reaching this publication indicates that former Member of Parliament for Lalanje Constituency Lawrence Sitolo has resign from the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) with immediate effect.

This has been revealed in a leaked letter addressed to MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda dated November 19, 2024.

In the letter Sitolo who once served as MCP lawmakers has cited personal reason as grounds of his resignation.

“Due to personal reasons, I write to formally inform you of my cessation as a member of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) with immediate effect.

“I hope you will find the foregoing in good order,” reads in part the statement.

Effort to talk to Chimwendo Banda proved futile.
