Peoples Development Party (PDP) President Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa has endorsed the demonstrations organized by Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) slated for November 21, 2024 in Lilongwe.

CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa has organized demonstrations with an aim of pushing for the immediate resignation of Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) Chief Executive Officer Henry Kachaje and Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola over fuel crisis in the country.

Speaking in a media briefing at Golden Peacock Hotel Nankhumwa asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera by finding solutions to the said fuel crisis.

“I ask President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to work up from his slumber and address the fuel crisis in Malawi as soon as possible. I hear CDEDI has organized demonstrations on fuel crisis us as PDP we endorse these demonstrations, not endorsing the demonstrations only buy I also urge PDP supporters to patronize the demonstrations,” said Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa has also hinted that he will join the said demonstrations.
