Information reaching this publication indicates that HHI Secondary School in Blantyre has been closed indefinitely following a violent protest by students who damaged several school facilities. The unrest began after the school authorities suspended 21 prefects, a decision that sparked anger among the students.
In response to the suspensions, the students vandalized the administration block, laboratory, kitchen, and library. The damage led to the decision to close the school, with students being sent home as a result of the unrest.
