A 29-year-old single mother from Mansa is reaching out to the Ministry of Health for assistance as she seeks to leave her current occupation as a sex worker and find a safer, more stable job. The woman, who has requested to remain anonymous, explained that she is concerned about the risk of spreading HIV and no longer wants to work in unsafe conditions.

She expressed her desire for a simple job, such as a cleaning position, to help support herself and her 11-year-old daughter, who is HIV negative. “I don’t want to work in the dark streets anymore. I want to change my life for the better,” she said.

The woman has sent a heartfelt plea to Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, her local member of parliament and Health Minister, asking for help in finding employment and a way out of her current situation. She shared that while some men refuse to use condoms because of her light skin, she is committed to making a change and protecting her health and future.

In addition to seeking a fresh start, she is open to meeting men who are serious about marriage, emphasizing that she is looking for someone who is genuinely interested in building a future together.
