Information reaching this publication indicates that Minister of Information and Digitization Moses Kunkuyu who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) campaign director has been stoned in Ndirande Township.

Kunkuyu together with some top officials from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) were in Ndirande to inspect some government projects where they were also urged Malawians to go and register in large numbers.

But things went out of hand after some people suspected to be vendors started singing anti-government songs while others were pelting stones at the vehicles being used by MCP top officials.

Police had to move in and fire teargas to disperse the angry Malawians.

Kunkuyu has since suspended the trip where he was supposed to proceed to Thyolo District.
