A nine-year-old boy has died after the roof of the house he was sleeping in fell on him following the heavy rain that fell last night at Mphonde chief in Nkhotakota district.

Nkhotakota police spokesperson, Paul Malimwe, has confirmed the matter and said the deceased is Yasmin Rahman from Moyenda village.

“Mr Rahman suffered serious head injuries and people rushed him to a small hospital in Bua where he died,” said Mr Malimwe.

Mr. Malimwe said the results of the hospital’s autopsy showed that Mr. Rahman died due to excessive blood loss.
