Hit-and-Run Incident Claims Life of Traffic Police Officer In Lilongwe

A Traffic Police Officer identified as Sub Inspector Benson Mtota, has tragically lost his life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver at the Aret Police Roadblock along the Lilongwe-Mchinji M12 Road.
The incident occurred while Mtota, aged 45, was performing his duties. An unregistered vehicle, traveling from Njewa towards Kaunda Roundabout, hit him and fled the scene.
Sub Inspector Mtota hailed from Villageheadman Khumbudza, Traditional Authority Kawinga, in Machinga District. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
