The Israeli military and Hezbollah, a militant group based in Lebanon, have ceased hostilities after 13 months of intense conflict.

U.S. President Joe Biden announced last night that the fighting had ended and urged both sides to ensure it does not resume.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning, stating that Israel’s military would retaliate decisively if Hezbollah attempts to violate the terms of the ceasefire.

Hezbollah, which receives support from Iran, has not yet issued a statement regarding the ceasefire.

Under the peace agreement brokered by the United States, the two sides have committed to a two-month period without conflict, providing a temporary respite in the region.

The ceasefire marks a significant step toward stability, but concerns remain about whether it will hold beyond the agreed duration.
