State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi who is also former United Transformation Movement (UTM) President has condemned the ongoing political violence in the country ahead of the 2025 polls.
Usi said this today while visiting business people in Liwonde Township, Machinga.
In his speech Usi urged Malawians not to allow themselves to be used by politicians seeking to advance their selfish agendas.
The condemnation comes barely two days after armed youths suspected to be from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) disrupted demonstrations organized by Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative (CDEDI) in Lilongwe.
CDEDI organized the demonstration with an aim of pushing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fire Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola and Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) Chief Executive Officer Henry Kachaje over fuel crisis in the country.
The demonstrations were supposed to be followed by vigils.
