Former president Edgar Lungu has claimed that he has uncovered a scheme where the ruling UPND are trying to discredit and undermine the Tonse Alliance Kawambwa Constituency candidate Danstan Mwansa.
Addressing the press today, Mr Lungu said he was not going to allow the ruling party to undermine the candidate in question, adding that discrediting people with lies is no longer acceptable.
He stressed that discrediting people with lies is not propaganda anymore.
“It is criminal, it is immoral, it is a sin to lie about other people. Just tell the truth so that you are known for what you are…. It is time to catch up with the lies,” he said.
“I am coming to join you in Kawambwa very soon we campaign. I want it to be known that we will not be restrained or constricted by the protocals of government which they want to use to say no, you cannot campaign because ba President bali kuno.”
Meanwhile, the former president said he was not going to succumb to intimidation.
“The President will always be there in Zambia, and if they want, they can even close the airspace… somehow, we know imingalato, we will not be beaten…” he said.
“Wenye wanyanya wenye, we cannot afford to be cheated like that. So, we will respect the law but we will not succumb to intimidation, or blackmail, or dribbles, no.”
