An unidentified person has abandoned a newborn baby behind a latrine at Zoa Health Centre in Thyolo District.

Thyolo District Hospital spokesperson Fanuel Makina confirmed the incident, stating that the baby was found in good health. He has since called on organizations that care for young children to take custody of the baby.

Makina further disclosed that the case is now in the hands of the police, who are investigating to identify the mother.
