A young woman has bravely called off her wedding, citing ongoing physical abuse from her fiancé and expressing fears for her safety.
In a heartfelt and candid post on her Facebook page, she made it clear that the wedding would not proceed and urged those involved in the preparations to stop.
She shared that the abuse had taken a toll on her emotional well-being, and she could no longer continue in what she described as a toxic relationship. “I have decided to call off the wedding, so those making preparations, I kindly ask you to stop. I have had enough in this relationship,” she wrote.
In a powerful message, she explained that despite the love she had once felt, she could not continue sacrificing her happiness and safety. “Before you lose me to physical abuse, it’s better I end this. I can’t be unhappy just because of love. I have seen people killed in the name of love. Enough is enough. I am becoming toxic as well because of his behavior,” she added.
She emphasized the importance of prioritizing her well-being and expressed her willingness to remain single rather than remain in an abusive relationship. “Let me be single; it’s okay,” she stated. “To his family members, tell your son to stay away from me. I don’t want him anymore. I made this public so you can see the angel of a person he is…”
She concluded her post with a powerful reminder about the dangers of abuse. “#GBV is real. Better a broken relationship than enduring abuse. Don’t die for love,” she wrote.
