Jeremiah Mwaungulu, a well-known actor in Malawi, has announced that he is leaving the popular Television  drama Tikuferanji. Mwaungulu, who played the character “Chisi” on the show, confirmed his departure but did not explain why he decided to leave.

“Yes, I can onfirm that I have stopped,” Mwaungulu said when asked about quitting the drama, which he had been part of since 2003.

Mwaungulu has been a key part of Tikuferanji for over 20 years, making him one of the longest-serving actors on the show. His role in the drama made him a household name in Malawi.

Even though he is leaving Tikuferanji, Mwaungulu is still active in the theater world. He recently performed in Reverend Bolamoyo’s play in Lilongwe with the Waz Arts Theater group.

While it’s unclear why he is leaving the show, Mwaungulu’s contribution to Tikuferanji and to Malawian theater has been significant, and fans will miss seeing him on screen.
