President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera have departed Abu Dhabi through the Al Bateen Executive International Airport after concluding bilateral discussions with Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The talks focused on finding lasting solutions to the persistent fuel shortage affecting Malawi.

During the departure, the Ambassador for Kuwait and Gulf countries (excluding Qatar), Younos Abdul Karim, said the discussions align directly with Malawi’s 2063 agenda, which centres on infrastructure development, enhanced agricultural practices and increased trade connectivity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Dr. Chakwera is expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport around 1 o’clock this afternoon.
