The National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has attributed the recent fuel shortages to ongoing disruptions in Mozambique.
The shortages, which began late last week, have left motorists struggling to access fuel across the country.
NOCMA spokesperson Raymond Likambale explained that the company has been relying on alternative routes through Tanzania to mitigate the situation, but the adjustment has contributed to delays.
Likambale also assured the public that ten fuel tankers have already arrived in Blantyre and efforts are underway to stabilize the supply chain and resolve the crisis.
