The Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has called on law enforcement agencies to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the recent violent acts at Michiru and Chisapi Private Schools. The incidents, which occurred this week, resulted in significant damage to school properties, leaving education authorities concerned.

Dr. Ernest Kaonga, President of PRISAM, expressed frustration over the vandalism and urged police to publicly release the names of the suspects. He emphasized that the Association intends to blacklist these individuals from enrolling in any private schools.

“These are criminals, not students. There is no justification for disciplined students to engage in vandalism, regardless of any grievances,” Dr. Kaonga stated.

He added, “Once we have the names, we will notify private schools across the country to ensure they are not enrolled.”

The incidents have sparked broader concerns about the safety and discipline within schools, with stakeholders urging swift action to prevent future occurrences.
