Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Mulanje Bale Constituency Victor Musowa has come under heavy criticisms over violent remarks toward Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters in Ndirande Township.

Musowa was on Sunday quoted urging DPP supporters to attack anyone shouting MCP slogan in Ndirande Township.

“Nyengo ino munthu kunena kuti kwacha ndi zoona? Igwira? Nde tipemphe kuti aja mumathamangitsa aja muone mochitira mwake. Mukadzamva za kwacha chitani momo. Mudzaone mochitira mwake. Osawasiya adzazolowera Ndirande sisunga kape,” Musowa was quoted as saying.

Reacting to Musowa’s remarks MCP spokesperson Jessie Kabwila has condemned the utterances ahead of the 2025 polls.
Kabwila asked Musowa to retract the statement.

Meanwhile, DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has described the remarks as reckless.

Namalomba said Musowa’s remarks are contrary with the ideologies of DPP.
