One of the senior members of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) Louis Ngalande has resigned from the party and re-joined the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ahead of the 2025 polls.
DPP Regional Governor for the South Charles Mchacha welcomed Ngalande into DPP ford during a rally held in Ndirande on Sunday.
Speaking after being welcomed into DPP, Ngalande apologized to Malawians over his role in campaigning for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera under the banner of Tonse Alliance together with late former Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.
Ngalande said all the challenges that Malawians are passing through now were orchestrated by him and late Chilima.
He then asked all UTM members and some small political parties in the country to join forces with DPP ahead of the 2025 polls.
Ngalande said DPP is the only hope for Malawians.
